Paper work required to sell a small business in Florida?

Why is it right that some people can't afford health insurance. I will use an example from personal experience. My mom graduated from the University of Michigan with a masters degree in Child Psychology. Her current employer lost funding and no longer provides insurance. (They are a behavior health care provider) She then had to try to get her own insurance. However, she recently had lymph nodes removed because they had pre-cancerous growth. Now no insurance company will pick her up because of her "preexisting condition." She is currently unable to get coverage with anything lower than a 10,000 dollar deductible. This costs over 800 per month for what amounts to crappy coverage for a 48 year old female who doesn't smoke or drink and is in good physical shape. How is this right? I use this example to fight the claims that people without insurance are lazy morons. As you can see form her education she is nether. I'm not saying that the government should takeover health insurance but I think there should be some kind of alternative option. There are many many people who are deserving citizens who simply can't afford to go to the hospital. What does everyone else think?.
