Why not simply contact Social Security online and order a new card. It only takes a few weeks and it has no conflict.. . As for asking another for your card back, send a registered letter doing so to the person and if they do not comply then take that letter to the police and accuse the person of identity fraud.. . Of course my first thought will take less time and is certain to work.. . Good Luck.. . edit. . BTW. Ordering a new card does not change your number. It merely gets you a new copy of your existing number.

Actually someone who is learning disabled can be named as having power of attorney in most states. In some states even someone diagnosed as mentally disabled can also be named as having power of attorney.. . Example: In Montana a person disabled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can be granted a power of attorney.

Edit your letter to the Governor. Make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors. Ask someone to look over your work to make sure you're not missing any errors.

(please nobody critisize this question, if u have nothing good to say, dont say it). first of all: i am not forcing anything on anybody... but if u cant read.. its not my problem... i said i wanted to SPREAD the message to whoever is INTRESTED... ok?. . second: it is never too late or too early to spread the message where ever one may be, in the US or out of it...

It's important to note that any couple with a legally-recognized relationship (whether it be a marriage, civil union, or domestic partnership) must take additional legal steps to protect themselves and their families, since the protections offered by their home state are rendered practically void the second they leave the state. To avoid any potential obstacles and even heartache, I would strongly recommend that all gay couples have Powers of Attorney and living wills.. . Also, keep in mind that even in states where gay marriage is legal, these couples are still not afforded nearly all of the "equality" given to straight marriages. One blatant example of this is the inability for such couples to file joint federal income taxes.. . Best advice --> Consult a lawyer familiar with LGBT family law. Your family is worth it.
