I changed my last name shortly after my divorce. I had to publish my intent to change my name in a newspaper of "general circulation" which notifies anybody and everybody of my intent. You can perhaps change the name on your card from "Richard" to "Rick" or something like that, but that would be about it.

I live in the UK in a small country village. Some real horrible man who i've heard seems to cheat his way into everything and is also extremely rude to people just bought a field one across from my own. He is planning to build a whole housing estate there!!! there is already one in the main village anyway and i know for a fact there are hundrends or even thousands of empty homes scattered around within a 20 mile radius of the village and in the surrounding towns.. . If i decline their planning when it is public as well as others from the village, is there any way that this can still go ahead?? If so what can possibly be done to stop this?? I know that people need homes but as i said there are lodes of empty run down houses around that just need re-doing and why build right outside a village in the most beautiful, country part of the area with ugly estate houses, i mean that field had gorgeous sheep and lambs in it last year and now this?! (it isn't public for people to know about yet as far as i know but i know someone who knows the man who's planning it) Any help at all?!?!.
