  • A Tradition of Service and Excellence

Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo P.C. was founded more than 80 years ago and is one of New York's largest personal injury law firms. We have long been recognized as one of New York's premiere personal injury law firms due to our strong record of results, deep commitment clients and strong reputation in the legal community. Our size, scope of organization and wealth of resources place us in a very unique position to provide both immediate and expert service in all areas of personal injury law.

SPBMC is departmentalized within specialized areas of plaintiff's personal injury litigation such as motor vehicle, medical malpractice, construction site, fire, municipal, premises, toxic tort and product liability cases. Within each department, litigation teams have been created and staffed to address issues that involve a specific area of the law.

Our depth of knowledge and experience enables us to provide highly skilled representation to each or our valued clients. Over the last decade alone, we have recovered more than $2 billion on behalf of accident victims and their families.

    Your Personal Advocates

We are committed to knowing each client individually, and to addressing their particular concerns promptly and professionally. We know that our clients, and oftentimes the lawyers who have referred them, have trusted us to do everything possible to achieve the best results for them. Our reputation has been built on that trust.

    No Case Too Complex

In addition to handling thousands of individual claims, SPBMC is either currently serving or has successfully served as Lead Plaintiff's Counsel in cases involving: 9/11 rescue and recovery workers litigation, Kaltech chemical explosion, 1993 World Trade Center bombing, HIV-infected hemophiliacs, Washington Square park crash, Staten Island tank explosion, MGM Grand hotel fire, and the Anne Street explosion. We also have represented victims of asbestos and other environmental hazards, breast implants, unsafe pharmaceutical drugs, aviation accidents, maritime accidents and lead poisoning.

SPBMC is one of only six firms chosen on a national level to represent the State of New York in its litigation against the major tobacco companies. Our efforts helped the State obtain an historic $25 billion recovery and unprecedented public health benefits which are expected to save thousands of lives.

The Firm also had the honor of representing 363 firefighters and families of deceased firefighters in the original September 11th Victim Compensation Fund securing more than $265 million for them, and not charging any legal fee earning the firm the National Law Journal's 2004 Pro bono Award.

Following the closure of the VCF, the Firm represented more than 600 firefighters sickened by exposures at the World Trade Center disaster site. Appointed co-liaison counsel, the firm assumed a leading role in The World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation, as the case became known, a long, difficult fight to secure compensation for all of these brave individuals.

In June 2010, as the trial date approached, serving as co-liaison counsel for the injured workers, SPBMC helped secure a $600 Million-plus settlement with the attorneys for the defendants.

Our success in these areas shows that no litigation is too large or complex for us to handle. Yet, we never lose sight of the fact that each client deserves the individual care and attention that is a hallmark of our practice.

lawyer Apostolos, Mark A. Reviews

I just checked my credit report and noticed that I owe some money to Time Warner cable.. However, there are 2 different collection agencies reporting the same debt. The "pay status" for both are "in collection". Looking at the dates, it seems the first agency sold my account to the second agency. So why is the first agency's report still remaining on my credit report?. What should I do in this situation? I want to pay off this debt and get rid of the "in collection" status from BOTH agencies. Do I have to pay to both? Then I would be paying double the debt?. . Thanks!. Oh, and can I just pay Time Warner directly and will that clear my account on both collection agencies?.

Limited power of attorney forms are VERY state specific and must be recorded and the bank must approve the form PRIOR to the closing.. . You need to call your closing attorney....that is the person who MUST draw up the document and it must be specific to the transaction.

Why is a job application form important?

Well all business letters either brit or Americans look the same it is type of english that is in them that is distinct. Remember we americans killed english..lol

How personal should a cover letter be?

How much is your freedom, your family, your health, your estate planning or your life worth? That's what a lawyer is protecting for you. If its not worth $300 an hour for you to protect these things then don't pay it. Represent yourself. If you have a low income or are elderly you can also look for legal aid in your area. Lawyers also have a range of fees. If you can't afford the lawyer you contacted ask him or her if they will take less or ask them for referral to someone who you can afford.
