i need to write a recommendation letter for a friend who is filling humanitarian to canadian immigration?

ok, here's the lowdown:. 1. scrum works best when you actually can deliver discreet pieces of work and they aren't too dependent on other pieces of work.. 2. you need to have a great working relationship between the technical staff and the business. 3. It works well in situations where the entire scope of the project is not known up front, ie scope is evolving but customer still wants to see output. 4. scrum usually shares some of the following beliefs about software delivery: sharing information, no compromise on quality, minimise documentation and any extraneous paperwork, dual coding will improve quality and learning, make it fun, open and honest comms. . I've been a scrum master and here's how we worked it. 1. planning:. **************. * the scrum master leads the team - that was me. * we chose a 2 weeks cycle for each delivery - not too long- not too short. * we had a planning session at the beginning of each cycle. during the planning session we estimated how much we could fit in. The tasks were also prioritised so that if anything slipped, it would be the least important stuff. Representatives from the business would attend to input.. * the scope for the two weeks would be documented as use cases and then test cases. * during the cycle we would develop, unit test and then system test all components (end users were closely involved in this). * at the end of the cycle we had a lessons learned and review session to see what was finished and what was done well. . the scrum master has daily meetings with the staff. . execution. - we had daily scrum meetings (stand up, 15 minutes) which focused on eliminating issues. As scrum master, it was my job to ensure that everyone was happy and, most importantly, that any potential issues were eliminated. The scrum master is not the boss but the main support person for the team, running around and smoothing the way for the coders and testers.. - We had a culture of the highest respect for quality , not rushed half-hearted attempts at development were acceptable. We had a system of reward for whoever was deemed to deliver the most complex, error free code.. - The coding was done in pairs. This is to ensure a) backup person knows what's happening, b) quality check as you code, c) cross-learning. This worked very well. - Business was co-located with the development team, so testing happened as soon as code was complete.. . At the end of each cycle complete discrete modules were delivered to the business, who were active participants in the delivery, rather than being passive consumer. . I can testify that this worked really well. There is a whole heap more I can write- I am definitely a fam of this technique.
