  • Andrew W. Skolnick represents clients in all aspects of federal and state civil litigation in matters involving professional malpractice, commercial litigation, property loss and damage, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, catastrophic loss, product liability, probate disputes, and consumer and workplace related class actions. Mr. Skolnick also represents clients before the workers' compensation commission and other administrative agencies.

    Mr. Skolnick has represented litigants in civil cases since 1993. Mr. Skolnick has represented clients involved in a wide range of complex commercial litigation, including victims of employee theft, wage and hour disputes, international trade and significant loss of assets. He has tried numerous jury cases to verdict on behalf of both individuals and businesses.

    Mr. Skolnick received his undergraduate degree from Trinity College in 1989 and obtained his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1992.

April 21, 2010).Connecticut counsel for hedge fund for claims against major national accounting firms arising out of the Bernard Madoff fraud.Represented engineering firm in defense of claims by a competitor for multimillion dollars in damages arising out of disputed contracts and projects. Ultimate judgment after trial was less than $40,000. See Optical Design Assoc., Inc. v. Sunshine Engineering, LLC, 2010 WL 1495425 (Conn. Super. Ct. Mar. 9, 2010), affirmed after reargument, 2010 WL 3584441 (Conn. Super. Ct. Aug. 16, 2010).

    Class actions

    Co-counsel representing pharmaceutical sales representatives of prescription drug manufacturers in federal court class action alleging overtime pay violations under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. See Ruggeri v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., 585 F.Supp.2d 308; 585 F.Supp.2d 254 (D.Conn. 2008); and Kuzinski v. Schering Plough, 604 F.Supp.2d 385; 604 F.Supp.2d 247 (D.Conn. 2009).Co-counsel representing shareholders of a publicly traded chemical manufacturer in connection with claimed inadequacies in the process relating to the sale of that company.
