What does the phrase "took an arrow to the knee" mean?

Are there any Australian law firms with offices in Tokyo? or anywhere in Japan??. . Thanks Heaps!!.

where can I find a generic general services contract template?

Business email etiquette - opinions?

Sample letter informing staff of salary increase?

I was also her power of attorney. I know that legally the account became mine when she passed away and I do not believe it will have to go through probate or be considered part of the estate. I will divide the contents among my siblings anyway when all the dust settles, but I don't know when that will be.. . My questions are:. . 1) Mom paid the insurance on the house up to December. Does the policy still cover the house even though she has passed away? Do I need to contact them to transfer anything? Can I even do that before probate?. . 2) Same question with her vehicle. Her insurance was paid up until February. Does the policy still cover the vehicle or should I contact them and have it put under my own policy? Can I do that without probate and transferring the property into my own name? Can we even drive it legally currently?. . 3) How long should I expect probate to take? Since I am able to use "mom's" account, I have no problem paying her final expenses and medical costs directly as they roll in. Is it wiser to do this through the formal probate process or just pay the expenses as they come out of my "own" (Joint) account?. . 4) On a related note, I believe that creditors can sue the estate if there are unpaid debts and force the property to be sold. I intend to sell the property anyway, but since my brother would stand to inherit far more money this way than my mother wanted is it okay to just pay the debts out of our joint account so that the property can be sold in my own name rather than as part of the estate?
