Just imagine trying to digitize and get someone to sign off on the accuracy of just one town's complete real estate tax map and deed transfer history. Tons of paper, all with paper cross-references, and most were hand-written (hard to let Optical Recognition Software handle), and anything older than 100 years is going to be fragile. Still, in most places - when you buy or sell a house, there is a title search that goes back at least 3 generations.. possibly since the building was erected.     I am a Head Start teacher and I teach 4 & 5 yr olds. We usually have a Prom for the children (if there are any funds) and at the end of the year we have a Graduation Ceremony for all of the graduates including Caps & Gowns, etc. The parents will purchase the Cap & Gowns but I will need to have funds for everything else such as Trophies and Certificates. I'm not a good letter writer but I know what I want to say. I'm thinking of asking several businesses such as Target & Wal-Mart for donations to my classroom.
