but I guess it doesn't really even matter.
It is legal to call herself anything she wants - either her ex-husbands last name or something she made up.. . My husbands ex-wife got remarried and kept my husbands name.. . There is no law that says she has to call herself a certain name. She can even make up an entirely new name that has nothing to do with anyone and ask the Courts / Judge to change her name.. . When the final decree of divorce was given ? All she had to do was say she wanted to keep her name. And, that is most likely what happened.. . Also, some women want to keep the name of their ex-husband so that they have the same name as their children.. . Peace.
Question 1: I went to a notary to have my will signed and notarized. I'm a California resident, so I need at least two and at most three witnesses, so I asked three random people at the notary's office to witness for me, and all of them filled out the proper form and signed. Because I didn't know the witnesses, if there was an issue such as them not using their real names or something like that, could there be a problem regarding the validity of my will? (One girl who witnessed originally had a problem remembering her last name, and no one is that stupid.). . Second question: regarding power of attorney, I don't know anyone who I trust enough to sign over my healthcare and what not if I am incapacitated, but if I'm incapacitated I want them to pull the plug and not do anything to my body mainly for religious reasons--if I sign power of attorney over to someone, I wouldn't want them to authorize any surgeries or anything on my body. Is there some kind of document that I can have on file to mandate that no one can approach my body if I am incapacitated no matter what? (A 'do not resuscitate order' wouldn't be all-encompassing enough, but something like that I suppose.).
