The adult lives in california and the daughter lives in washington. if a power of atty was done, can i find it?

My 93-year old father-in-law fell yesterday and is not doing well at all. The hospital is now asking us if he has a "Code Status" to determine what they will do with him next. My husband went home to get his Living Will. The hospital told us that a Living Will is worthless, that he needs a legal "Code Status" before they can determine what part of the hospital to put him in. Can anyone enlighten me?.

How, as a student do I help my teacher dispute a letter of reprimand?

. edit: I hope you realize that you'll only be able to change the name, not the gender field on your records. The gender field can only be changed with sex reassignment surgery. I mention this because the Social Security Agency annually verifies information they have on all workers with their employers. And when your information doesn't match (gender) your employer may receive a "no match" letter. If you're out to your employer, fine. But if you're not it could be trouble. Some prejudiced employers will even fire you for "lying". Just something to keep in mind.
